4-days Indrahara Pass Trek
We start this trek from the enchanting small village of Mcleodganj to Gallu. We take a break at the Magic View Café and refresh ourselves and trek towards Triund. We then move from Triund to witness Laka Glacier in all its glory and then the ancient and enchanting Lahesh Caves and finally end the trek on a happy note and loads of memories.
Begin the first day of this trek from the beautiful village of Mcleodganj. The starting of the trek is with an easy walk which gets rough as one move towards the final part. Reach Dharamkot after a few hours, which is located at the end of river Bhated. It is a place covered with a variety of Himalayan trees and vegetation. The trees generally found at this place are oak and cedar amongst others. Capture the picturesque sceneries of the place and then we get going to reach Gallu temple – an intricate and exemplary architectural wonder. This is a must visit for its beauty as well as the surrounding picturesque views. Reach Magic View to enjoy a fulfilling cup of coffee or tea. And finally, reach the destination of Triund and take in its glory. Also, view the exotic Kangra valley on the South.
The second day gets exciting as we endure the challenges of the trek. Explore the hidden beauties and treasures of the enchanting Himalayas. A short climb from Triund will take us to Laka Glacier and keep us spellbound. The clear water and the sound of it flowing is music to one’s ear. Take quality photos of the glacier as this is the most stunning view of the day. Situated on the snout of a little glacier is the Laka Got. A sloped hilly descent will take one to the Lahesh Caves – an example of the extraordinary art of ancient ages. And we settle at the Laka Glacier camp for the night.
Start the third day of the trip with a wholesome morning breakfast before we turn on the adventure mode. The day has a lot in store for travellers who love the mountains. Feel the stress of city life melting away as you move along the path taking in the natural beauty and ensure that you have enough storage on your phones/memory cards because you will be spoilt for choice. Feel the fresh cold breeze while having a rough climb through uneven routes, which will lead you to the top of the Indrahara Pass. The awe-inspiring beauty and picturesque view should be enough to prepare your mind for the toughest day of the trek which can get worse due to bad weather. Be rest assured that your guides will take the best decision for you. After spending ample time sightseeing and capturing photographs, we return to the Lahesh Caves for the night’s rest.
Spend the final day leisurely after returning to the starting destination – Mcleodganj village. A descent down, crossing the same route of going back though Lahesh caves, through Triund and finally reaching Mcleodganj would be worthy enough. One can be on their own and enjoy the local delicacies and buy some souvenirs for their loved ones before returning to their homestead.
